Just before the foot of Eldin Volcano is a portal that appears to be made from the fabric of darkness itself. This portal opened earlier in the day, information about its presence being transferred through Mogmas to traders, who told newscasters, and from there it was decided that there needed to be a joint effort to relieve the land of its newfound woes. All countries have been told to take action and the article's presence in the Hyrule Chronicles has alerted many capable citizens of the new task at hand. The countries have all briefly put aside their beliefs to manage the newfound pest problem.
Hyrule has gathered their troops and are in the process of sending them to Eldin; being the furthest away, they have yet to make it. Termina has gathered a small group of well-off seamen and their crews for some form of defense. Labrynna has already dispatched Captain Tanagathor and his elite squad of beast hunters. Holodrum has released a vicious group of mercenaries to do their bidding, though they, like Termina, have no formal forces. Skyloft has sent some Loftwing warriors down from above, and various other groups have also decided to take action.
The monsters from the portal are slain and then the new monsters that emerge grow in power and ability. For example, Gore crows could be sent out from the portal, and then after the portal senses they have been defeated it will release a slightly stronger monster. The types and numbers of the monsters will be announced by an admin. This thread will close once someone has found a way to close the portal for good.

Monsters Released: None Monsters Killed: None Human Casualties: None Ilyndrathyl had finally found a job that he was beginning to dread. His men were antsy, not sure as to what was to come, and virtually no one else from around the world had arrived to help him out yet. The portal was obscenely eerie; the darkness seemed to swirl inside of it, causing all magmas to run and hide. He hadn't seen an enemy exit from it yet, and didn't really know how the portal worked. He and his men had set up camp on the beach, hoping for someone to appear there with a ship so they could organize some fighters to begin this battle. He knew the portal wasn't going to wait long.
Not far from the coast, the crew aboard Din's Avenger was stirring with excitement. They were all in high spirits, tanked with rum, and everyone was just have a jolly good time. The ship herself was ready to find a spot to rest. She'd been sailing nearly all day. On board were enough provisions to sustain one-hundred people, assuming they all liked rum. They'd be on land within a few minutes. The men who weren't preoccupied with landing the ship safely were gathering weapons to take with them onto shore. Zak was busy shouting orders, enjoying being in the presence of his happy crew members.
Link, mounted upon Chip, his crimson Loftwing, jumped off the large bird and floated safely to the sand below with the help of his sailcloth. He wasn't anticipating the sand to shift beneath him, so he ended up landing and then falling flat on his face, getting a deeeeee-licious mouth of sand in the process. He sure did seem to be falling a lot lately. Once he regained his bearings, he tucked the sailcloth away and looked around. He didn't see anyone he recognized, but he figured all were pretty friendly. He began to approach Ilyndrathyl's men.

Kira was more than a little annoyed by the fact that due to him technically being born in Skyloft he was drafted and now forced to help deal with some portal, but he didn't mind too much since they are giving him free booze and he can finally use his Black Loftwing, and as he flew high above the ground taking in the boats, the men drinking, and the lovely scenery, before he saw somebody clad in green fall face first into the sand " 100 gold says that's Link" he said to himself as he made his rapid decent above the water so that he would be level with the beach by the time he approached so he could land safely. As he dismounted his Loftwing and folded it up so he could put it in his pack, he then immediately went to a nearby rock and sat down and proceeded to drink

From the sea, Fia'ye and Reinna approached, passing by a ship rapidly like a little red and white blur. The ship was the Din's Avenger and Fia'ye knew it well, she scared a few pirates from them a few years back. Though there were more president matters at hand, that damned portal. Fia'ye noticed a man in green on the beach, it was obvious her was part Hylean to her. Though she soon got off the still galloping Reinna rolling on the beach a bit before standing. Though noticed a somewhat friendly face, Ilyndrathyl, the elf she had met on Death Mountain about a month ago, she walked over as Reinna soon caught up and spoke, "Well well. Hello there Ilyndrathyl." her words were soft, but still had the power to reach her target's ear.
Meanwhile by the Hylean forces, a certain two-tailed Kitsune man yawned as he walked onto the shores. In a large cloak bearing the Hylean Royal Guard, the elite units of the Hylean military in Eldin. He looked to the others around him, a shiekah, and wife close by, he spoke in a friendly manner, though was still tired from the trip, in which he had to handle most on the ship, "Ready to fight Lydia?" he asked smiling making sure his weaponry was where they're supposed to be, and looked on at the other forces coming in.

"Steady now, boys! We're almost in!" Zak's voice boomed, his men getting ready to drop the anchor. Soon enough, the ship was stopped and the crew were ready to climb inside the row boats. The captain took his spot beside his first mate and the men quickly got the boats to shore. As they were getting out, all seemed to be going well. The black haired dwarf-man had yet to notice the redheaded woman and her stupid old nag, which seemed to be pretty fortunate for them.
Link brushed the sand from his pants and looked around. This was bound to be interesting. How was he going to keep the peace here? It seemed that everyone was from a very different background and one had already started drinking. Well, whatever. He would manage to manage.
Without giving her the pleasure of acknowledgement, Ilyndrathyl nodded to Fia'Ye's greeting. "Hello, soldier." He wasn't in a particularly cheerful mood and didn't feel the need to address her with her name. He wanted to maintain an authoritative status and didn't want anyone to look at his orders as an option. Then again, who honestly looked at such a large, physically dominating man and didn't listen to what they said? Especially when he used a very commanding voice. He was older than he looked and had the experiences to prove it.
"Have you come prepared for a battle?"

"Yeah yeah." Lydia said pulling her mask up over her mouth while she acknowledged Attlas' existence. "I swear this had better be good. I'm tired of wasting my precious time."
Krieger Lydia and Isabel stepped off of a boat and onto the beach, together as usual. "So What kind of trouble are you gonna get yourself into this time?" Isabel asked Krieger with a playful smile.
"Well probably stabbed and shot at." Krieger said pulling his hood up. Had anyone else insulted him like that he would've showed them how wrong they were but Izzy? She had a special place in his heart and no matter what happened he knew she had his back.
"That doesn't sound like anything I can't fix!" Isabel said with a small smile as she adjusted her medical bag. "Promise me you won't risk your life if you can help it?"
Krieger smiled and placed a kiss on her beautiful lips "I promise dear. Stay safe yourself."

Attlas sighed, Lydia really had no care he existed again. He thought of why he thought of marrying her now, once again, she was cold to him, which drove him to take a few steps away before he spoke again, "So making sure we have a world to live in isn't worth your time? I wonder what is..." his last comment sounded more sarcastic, she was having a cold moment again, which brought out his sarcastic nature. Though he still stayed focused at the task he had to do.
While across the beach Fia'ye sighed, "You do realize that I am an officer in the Royal Guard right?" she asked noticing the black haired pirate coming to the shoreline, which induced her to the time that he attacked the ship she was on in transport to Hyrule, to which as far as she recalled, she kicked him back off with a nice shiny Silver Spear. Yet she ignored the man for a few, since Ilyndrathyl was being a pain again, "Oh come on Ily!" Fia'ye spoke playfully, "When am I not ready for a fight? I thought you'd know that by now! Besides, I DO have a name you know" she went from a playful face, to a stone cold and rather cut-throat look to the other men in Ilyndrathyl's squad, basically saying that only she was allowed to toy with the big elf.

Almost as soon as the words left Fia'Ye's mouth, Ilyndrathyl had wheeled around and hovered over her. "Do not call me that, you insignificant underling." He didn't mean it, but pet names were most certainly not his specialty. As if on cue, Indilwen showed up, book in hand, violet eyes shining brightly. Ever pleasant, she looked at the redhead. "Don't mind him. He just dislikes pet names. Right, brother?" The blue-haired she-elf was two feet shorter than her brother, looking like a dwarf in comparison. The men behind the small group chuckled quietly, enjoying their Captain's momentary lapse of nonchalance. It was a rare occasion when he confronted someone so directly. It was clear he had established some sense of admiration toward the member of Hyrule's guard. "It's good you've come prepared, as it looks like the portal has finally released something for us to handle." Ilyndrathyl looked toward the sky, gore crows swarming about. Groups of the birds seemed to be taking on individual targets. Nodding to his men, two mages cast basic fire spells and had at least twenty-five of the birds dropping like flies. Indilwen retreated to a tent, setting up her small medical post. The large elf ordered another mage who specialized in wind to blow some of the birds away, taking out another five. As birds went for Indilwen, Ilyndrathyl easily took out the remaining group of five.
Link, as the birds approached, noticed that Zelda's parents had appeared. Now the pressure was truly on. Gathering his bearings, he drew the master sword, preparing for one heck of a spin attack as the gore crows swooped toward him. At just the right moment, he released the pent up magic, slaughtering ten gore crows alone. "Heh, piece of cake." He murmured as one of the crows he had missed started pecking at his head. With a well-placed swat the crow fell to the ground. Link rubbed his head. There went that quarter-heart.
Zak looked up at the approaching enemy, the members of his crew shouting with glee. They hadn't seen any action yet, but boy were they eager. Monsters Released: 110 Gore Crows - Groups of approximately 10 crows attacking groups of fighters (or individuals) Monsters Killed: 85 Gore Crows Human Casualties: Link's hat, Fia'Ya's hair, Attlas's bun

Before the combat began, Attlas had pulled out a bun since he was hungry. Which got some horrid timing, since the crows attacked. He evaded the crows rather easily using his fox fire to deflect the crows and killing them rather easily, until one got through. It missed the Kitsune, but not what the Kitsune wanted to protect, the bun he had, was taken by the crow, and was soon devoured. Attlas looked at the crows, "Bastards! I was eating that!" he yelled catching another one by it's foot and slamming it into the ground. And began killing another bunch. (Overall about 20 killed by Attlas)
Fia'ye smiled, until the crows arrived, "Ah hell. Time to fly huh? Let's move Reinna!" she spoke calmly for someone whom hated things like gore crows. She flew up on Reinna and soon began taking down the crows with her sword rather quickly, though one that missed her had gotten a bit of her hair. Which for those whom have long hair know the sharp pain, Fia'ye grabbed the back of her head yelping, "Owww! That hurt you jerk!!" she yelped chasing the black and now scarlet bird with her bow taking aim. She fired hitting the bird in the eyes and sending it plummeting to the ground as the lock of hair floated down. Which Fia'ye ignored, she more went after it since it hurt her, she continued to fight. Slashing the birds down as she flew about with some loftwing troops. (About... 20 killed by Fia'ye)

Lydia rolled her eyes at her husband. The man was a huge fool. No wonder the leader of her kind hated her for marrying him. Well at least he was good looking. "And I'm not going to talk to you." She said coldly. She was not in the best mood ever and didn't have time for him.
Isabel followed the woman to her tent. She knew she was only decent at fighting and did not want to push her luck. "Hello dear. I-I'm a white mage and I was wondering if I could help you?" She asked rather quietly. Fear had taken her as normal but she plowed through it.
John stepped up next to his father. Unlike him johns robes were a dark blue. A mark of a junior member. "Father." He said smiling at the larger man.
"John." Krieger said with his arms folded. He only reached up to slap a bird out of the sky and drive his boot into it. "Can you believe it? Taken from my home to kill some damn birds?"

Indilwen had never really known how to conduct herself among people who weren't like her. Luckily enough, this woman had green hair, and wherever there was someone who wasn't quite like anyone else, Indilwen was going to investigate. Due to the nature of her field, she was intrigued by the woman's unnatural size. She was clearly a Kokiri, she just wasn't the size of a child. "If you're a Kokiri, why are you so large?" The question was a little rude, but the curious look on Indilwen's face portrayed her innocence well.
Zak took the first kill out of his men, hacking some of the crows from the sky with his axe. Once he had killed ten or so, he looked to his men, motioning toward their bows. "Why don't you make yourself useful while I go over and see what that big elf has planned?" Heeding their orders, the men took up their weapons and moved further inland, hoping to get a chance at some of the crows.
The pirate Captain approached the Labrynnian Captain without much of a thought. What he found there was nothing he would have liked to see. As he was walking, a lock of red hair floated by him. The hair caused him to look up, where he spotted a flying horse. The same flying horse that had hurt him before. Eyes narrowing, Zak wasn't sure if he should run away or pray the horse didn't descend. Nerves still riled, he reached Ilyndrathyl.
Link, now attempting to hide from Kreiger and Isabel, had decided to go and hide inside the group of pirates. [/size] Monsters Released: 110 Gore Crows Monsters Killed: 96 Gore Crows Human Casualties: Link's Hat, Fia'Ye's Hair, Attlas's Bun

Fia'ye noticed more Gore Crows, she prepared to attack, but one basically bludgeoned itself against her left shoulder. This sent Fia'ye plummeting to the ground with Reinna chasing after. Fia'ye wasn't too high up and soon handed hard on her side in the sand, which caused her to curl up into a ball for a bit in the writhing pain that resonated throughout her body. she had fallen from the height before and knew that a fall from four meters really just hurt like hell, usually not braking anything. Though soon a blue flame surrounded her as Attlas covered her, "Thank you... Attlas." she mumbled as the Gore Crows began attacking the blue fire, to no avail. Which they were soon attacked by something that wasn't human.
Back on the boat a masked woman came out. Slender, though had some weight to throw about. Her skin showed what race she was though, a Gerudo woman. Whom smiled under her mask, knowing how to deal with the gore crows as she saw swarms of them attacking what looked like a protective field. Her smile was erased as she took a deep breath. As she seemingly summoned, more Gore Crows, which were of her control had appeared, now coming from the sea and pushing back the remaining crows. Soon the Gerudo woman joined the other forces, standing by a large Elf, "Tomaru Yomaichi, at your service. I was dispatched here to help a Mr. Ilyndrathyl here. Would you happen to know whom that is?" she asked, completely butchering Ilyndrathyl's name. Though her Gore Crows cleaned up the rest of the opposing gore crows.

Isabel paused at the question. She was visibly surprised at the rather rude question. "Well I'm part Hylean. I don't want to talk about it. It's... painful." She said setting her bad down on the ground. "My name is Isabel Kross. Pleasure to meet you." she curtsied and smiled politely.
Krieger watched the green boy dart away. Yes he was the one he needed to speak to. He closely followed the boy and grabbed his shoulder. "You. Come here." He ordered the boy pulling on him to take him away from the crowd.

Monsters Released: 110 Gore CrowsMonsters Killed: 110 Gore CrowsHuman Casualties: Link's hat, Attlas's bread, Fia'Ye's hair, and Ilyndrathyl's name.It was a little disappointing for Ilyndrathyl to see Fia'Ye fall, but for Zak it was the complete opposite. As he watched the scene unfold he was praying for Reinna to hit the ground and break her horsey neck so that he didn't have to worry about his manhood getting kicked in. Though both were momentarily distracted, Zak soon received his orders and snuck back to his crew, hoping the dastardly pegasus wouldn't notice his presence.
Ilyndrathyl enjoyed the fact that everyone was coming to him looking for orders, but he wanted to make it clear that he wasn't the one who needed help. The people needed help. He himself was quite capable, the people were not. He didn't feel he had time to argue his point, so he skipped right to the details when it came to the necromancer. It irked him when the Gerudo mispronounced his name, so he decided he did have time to correct that. "The name's Ilyndrathyl Tanagathor. You can call me Captain. If you're here to assist me, I recommend you go help those pirates. They seem to be short on mages. Think you can handle it?" He hoped she could, because he didn't care for passionate people.
Indilwen looked at the woman, immediately ashamed. "Oh, forgive me. I know not what I say." She hung her head low, staring at the ground. She didn't realize race was a sensitivity to some people and she did feel bad. She was naïve but not ignorant. How could it have been a pleasure to meet someone who she had already begun to hate? This was why she tended to stay in the woods where she couldn't offend a single person. That was how it was supposed to be. "I'm Indilwen Tanagathor. Ilyndrathyl's sister." Not looking at Isabel, she kept her eyes on the ground. She was truly ashamed of herself. How could she have been so rude?
Link gasped as he was grabbed by the white assassin. What business could he possibly have with him? He was just a man trying to go about his business and slay some monsters, that was all. "I-I don't think that's a good idea. Safety in numbers!" Link said cheerily, though it was half-hearted. He just really didn't feel like dying today. In all reality, it wasn't like he would die. He was, after all, a very important man. If anyone wished to kill him they were beyond foolish. Monsters Released: NoneMonsters Killed: NoneHuman Casualties: None

Fia'ye sat up, rubbing her head in a daze, "Ugh... That fall definitely did a number..." she mumbled as Reinna came over hastily, "Now you join me you big goof." she spoke softly and rather calmly before she rose from the crater she was in and shook her head, using Reinna as support, and walked towards the medical tent. She opened the front of the tent, noting Isabel Kross and a blue elf, her voice was low, it was unclear to her what exactly had hurt her, but it was far beyond the magic she had, "Uhm... Excuse me... I need some treatment... I got knocked off Reinna while she was in the air." even with her head throbbing, she still threw on a gentle smile. While Reinna noticed the pirate, remembering him distinctly, and glared at him as much as her horsey face allowed her.
The gerudo known as Tomaru nodded as her gore crows disappeared, "Thank you Captain." she responded before walking towards the mass of pirates, her two sword... Thingies jingling as she approached their leader as far as she could tell, since they were unmarked, she spoke with authority, but kindness, she didn't favour pirates, but she basically was a ninja, "May I ask whom here is your captain? I was told to join his group here since you guys have no mages." she more or less was now speaking to the mass group to find her bearings.
