Located in this thread is information on the countries and landmasses in the Legend of Zelda world as pertaining to this site. This will be beneficial when choosing where character alliances lie and how your character can make a stand, as well as how their chosen country could have shaped them.
Hyrule Believes in the power of the TriForce as the unifying factor, in all of the goddesses, and is ruled by Princess Zelda and the senators. The various villages within this country are all ran by separate governors and governesses, but all are allied with the Princess. Hyrule has a very strong army. --Demographics: Primarily Hylians, Gorons, and Zoras
Termina Thinks the TriForce is nonsense and that their society has four elemental guardians. They are a bit more advanced than Hyrule and are a more market-based society. They have individual governments ran by the races in various places around Termina, rather than one unifying government like Hyrule. Clock Town has a mayor, the Great Bay is ran by the the Zoras, Snowhead by the Gorons, and Ikana Canyon is basically a center for ruin. --Demographics: A broad mix of all the races, as this is a market society.
Holodrum A democracy that believes in Din, the goddess of power. The people elect a president and are generally obedient, though they love to dance and travel. They love nature and celebrate the seasons individually, probably the most natural of all of the continents. The people believe in giving to the earth rather than taking from it and would never take what they couldn't return. --Demographics: Humans with a Hylian accent, along with a collection of Dwarves, Elves, and the like.
Labrynna A democracy that believes in Nayru, the goddess of wisdom. This society is a democracy led by the top scholars, as they believe that history and time are what the most important things in all society. Wisdom and a scholarly nature are what is the most important to them, not strength. Most of their warriors are mages, as they are not physically strong. Those who are brawny are usually looked down on. --Demographics: Humans, Hylians, Elves, Sheikah, all races considered 'intelligent'… and a few others.
Skyloft
Also a very scholarly civilization that also worships one goddess. The people here all have loftwings and are trained rigorously at the academy. Skyloft is a neutral civilization, trying to get along well with everyone on the surface world. They claim Eldin, Faron, and Lanaryu, so arguments will arise with who is taking care of the different areas when the other countries want them for themselves due to their resources. --Demographics: Hylians, with a few students of different races.
Eldin
Located close to Labrynna and Holodrum, Eldin also has an entrance to Subrosia, and underground world full of resources. The two countries want this location due to it's potential for mining. Native Species: Mogma Lanaryu
A sandy desert area that Termina wants due to the interesting technological opportunities it offers. They are very interested in discovering how Lanaryu Mines used to operate so they can have the technology for themselves.
Faron Hyrule wants Faron because it has plenty of lumber and other natural resources. It's also a popular tourist destination that has a broad variety of species and interesting areas to visit. Native Species: Kikwi
Note: just because the countries hold these beliefs and ideas does not mean that individuals from these countries have to believe in the same things. People cannot be from Eldin, Lanaryu, or Faron, though they can have ties to them.
