John stood in the plaza and looked up at the beautiful sun. Today was a beautiful day and he was spending it with his favorite person. He adjusted the leather gauntlets he wore and made sure the 'safety' for his blades was on for what had to be the hundredth time. "Come on Ysabel I don't want to be late!" He said gently. He wasn't rude but he was raised to always be early by a few minutes. "I'm actually nervous to meet them for the first time. You sure they won't hate me?" He asked nervously.

Ysabel had just finished slipping into her trademark white dress when she found that she had misplaced her silk sash. Where could it have gone to? It took her nearly five minutes to find, but once she found it she had it wrapped around her waist without another second's thought. She had plaited her long blonde hair and applied trace amounts of makeup, just enough to make her mother proud. "We're not going to be late, I'm sure," Izzy said as she looked in the mirror one last time. Yes, this was perfect. She looked presentable enough, and she could only hope the same for John. He surely wasn't a noble as her father would have liked, but she loved him, and that was all that mattered.
"Okay, I'm all set!" Her parents were coming in via boat from Termina and they were supposed to meet them somewhere, though Ysabel couldn't really remember where. Surely her father would make himself quite clear once he arrived. Exiting the house with quite the happy little prance, Izzy ran up to John's back and wrapped her arms around his waist, resting her head on his back.
((Her dad will look like this and her mom will look like this but they will be introduced in my next post.))

John smiled and sighed happily at the warm embrace. "I love you. You look beautiful!" he said with a huge smile. "SO where exactly are we going to meet your parents at? By the docks? Is that what your father said?" he asked looking around the town trying to remember where the docks are.

The feelings she got from John were truly wonderful, she just had an uneasy feeling in her gut due to how she expected her father would react to his not being a businessman. Her mother would scrutinize him no doubt but would theoretically be much more accepting once she realized that John was interested in procreating, and procreation meant grandchildren, and grandchildren meant meaningful, proper protégé. With a content sigh, Izzy allowed herself to relax. It was hard not to, what with the sun beating down so brightly.
"Thanks, John. I love you too." She still was unsure where her parents had said to meet, but she figured they would be riding in from the docks. "I think they'll be pulled in by carriage." Just as she said the words, a horse-drawn carriage came into sight, the finest around. Izzy smiled and stepped from behind John out where she was more clearly visible. "I think that's them!" Sure enough, the carriage stopped and from it came a very well-off couple. The man was a little taller than John, with slicked back black hair and a well-managed suit. The woman was wearing a fine dress, embroidered with flowers and a pale yellow in color. Her hair was long, brown, and flowing loosely about her. Though the man's reaction to his daughter was somewhat cold, her mother ran to Izzy and gave her perhaps the sweetest embrace the two had ever experienced.
"I missed you, dear. Oh, how I love how long your hair has gotten! It's so beautiful! And I see you've learned to wear makeup now, too. it's only fitting considering your societal position, dear. Say, how is Hyrule treating you? It's quite a lovely day, isn't it? How's the book coming? Are you well?" The woman was bustling with excitement and while she was distracting Izzy, the man approached John with tact and utmost propriety. "I take it you're Johnathon?" His voice was cold, seemingly devoid of emotion, as if all he ever did was communicate through lifeless words. It was clear that his green eyes were taking everything about John into consideration, intimidating to many a grown man.

John crossed his arms and smiled at his loves parents "Well I can see where Ysabel gets her stunning looks from!" he bowed slightly and looked at her father. He had a mountain to climb with him and he had to impress him first and impress him he would. "I am Jonathan but please, Call me John." he said pulling the hood of his assassins robes down. "I am The son of Isabel and Krieger Kross. Perhaps you two have heard of them?" he asked hoping that his parents doings would speak for themselves. "My mother is a well known white Mage and my father a great.. Well... Many things." he sighed and regained a polite smile "Is there anything you would like to know about me?"

((I don't know if I've named them yet. Dad's name is Bartholomew, mom's name is Addison)) Addison smiled at John, her cheek dimples more prominent than ever. "Well thank you!" She turned to Izzy and smiled. "Say, I do think I rather like him!" Ysabel laughed quietly and looked at John, a little insecure about her decision due to the way her father was scrutinizing him. She had known he was going to be hard to please, but she didn't know exactly how hard that was.
Her dad didn't smile but kept a somewhat kind tone in his voice. He fully intended to continue calling him Johnathon, simply because it seemed like the proper thing to do (and because he fully intended to continue being known as Mr. Archer or Bartholomew). "I've heard of your father; being of Termina we've had a few dealings with the man. Haven't heard much of your mother, though her name sounds familiar." Now everyone's eyes were on John, save Izzy's, who were begging her father to be nice.
"I would like to know your address, occupation, future plans, if you intend to marry or if you are toying with my daughter, and if you intend to have children. I do intend to offer any family members an internship in Termina." Bart surely wasn't holding back anything on the creeper scale, but he was a smidgeon overprotective.

"Well I have no home at the moment. You see my day job Is a captain in the Hylean Navy. I command my own fourth rate." John said with a proud smile. "However on the side I dabble in.... politics." he wasn't lying but calling himself a murderer wasn't going to help him. "I fully Intend on marrying your daughter and having several kids. All with your permission of course." he bowed politely and looked at Ysabel "I think my parents shouldn't be too far from here actually."He looked back qt his future father in law and crossed his arms "So what do you think of this whole rebellion that's going on?"

A navy captain? His daughter with a navy captain? The thought of it all made Bartholomew snort, audibly, too. Both Addy and Izzy gave the man a harsh look, but he shrugged it off. The politics wasn't a bad touch, but the thought of his avid horticulturalist being with a seafarer just cracked him up. As far as he knew, Izzy wasn't interested in hydroponics.
It was nice to hear he was willing to procreate, and Addy was clearly pleased with the idea as well. Ysabel blushed a pale pink and looked at her boots quietly. At least he wasn't telling lies. She wasn't sure herself how she had managed to land a catch like this.
"Do you do any trading on that boat of yours?" It was typical of her father, talking business, but the gleam in his eye expressed the fact that he was still testing John quite well. He intentionally didn't respond to the 'marrying his daughter' bit. Thought it might put him on edge, which was the intention.
Ysabel looked around for John's parents, as she did love his mother, but she had never really had any interation with Krieger. She didn't mind. Her father, when questioned about the rebellion, merely shrugged it off. "Never really had any interest in Hyrule's affairs unless the Mayor chooses to get involved. Termina would love to remain nuetral and continue to trade with all for as long as possible."

John shook his had slowly. "No sir I don't." he crossed his arms and looked to Ysabel and smiled in an attempt to reassure her. "You see I do not have that kind of vessel. I captain a war ship. I escort convoys and hunt down pirates for a living. he turned his wrist over and exposed the bottom of his blades. "Each ship drawn on here is a pirate ship I've captured." he boasted.

This boy clearly didn't know who he was dealing with. As soon as Mr. Archer saw the blades, his eyes lit up, and Izzy looked down. Addy looked at her daughter and patted her shoulder; he husband wasn't easy to please, a bit of a jackass, but she loved him anyways. It was going to be hard to please him, and now he just got more dirt on his daughter's suitor.
"You'd best be careful of what pirates you're taking out. Most of my best traders are pirates; they keep the goods safe, make speedy delivery, and charge a reasonable rate. Congratulations on the captures, but what are those blades for? We're in a public area, certainly there is no need to be so stealthily armed." Bart's voice had a sinister quality to it, as if he desired to make John's life a living hell. He hadn't brought any weapons with him, Ysabel was unarmed, and his wife was as well. He was curious as to what John was attempting to hide from him.
He wasn't on duty. Was there truly a need for blades like that?

John sighed and shook his head.he was surprised her father hadn't figured it out sooner. "I am part of Hyrule's rebellion. An assassin. " he bowed politely and held Ysabels hand in his. "I don't know what you have heard of us but we are not murderers. I carry these blades to protect myself and those around me from harm." he explained fully expecting her parents to turn on him.

At least he's honest, all three of the Archers thought simultaneously, the same expression on their faces. Addy didn't like that he had no problem killing people, but he was going to protect her daughter and provide for their family. Ysabel didn't really care because she could be herself (and she had already known), and Batholomew seemed to mull it over for a moment. Before he could speak, Ysabel spoke, squeezing John's hand.
"Daddy, I know he isn't a merchant, but I promise you'll like him. Can we all go to lunch now?" Her words were a little rushed, but her mother looked relieved; her father was a blank slate, as per usual. He nodded politely and gestured toward the nearby eateries.
"Johnathon, which would you prefer? I'm willing to pay, so don't take cost into consideration." All he really wanted was for his princess to be treated like a princess and to give him some grandsons. Perhaps it would all work out in his favor.

John smiled and shook his head "Oh anything will do. It doesn't bother me what you decide to do." he looked at Ysabel and whispered to her so her father wouldn't hear him speak. "Would you be ok if I kissed you in front of them?" he asked politely. The last thing he wanted to do was annoy her father and he thought a simple kiss could out the man over the edge.

Izzy truthfully didn't know how her father would react to that. She did want him to see her affection for John, but she figured just asking her dad to meet him was enough to show that. Her eyes softened for a moment, then she nodded slightly. "I don't think he would mind as much as mother; she expects us to wait until marriage. It would perhaps be best to contain the urge until they're off." She spoke quietly as well, though it didn't particularly matter because her parents were loudly discussing what they were going to be eating for lunch.
"I think we should just have soup-" Addy protested, pointing toward a soup shop. "Addison, you're not overweight. You can eat something other than soup." Bartholomew scolded, beginning to walk toward a somewhat more uppity restaraunt that served many, many things beyond soup, hoping to get his wife to eat something more nutritious for her.

John smiled at Izzy and followed her parents "What ever works best for you." he said with a twinkle in his eye. "I want them to like me." he looked at her dad and paused. "Can you tell me more about your shipping business?" John asked Bartholomew as politely as he could. He was hoping for a chance to talk about his own line of work as well.
