"I really hope they will..." Izzy mumbled, clasping her hands behind her back and following after her father like the obedient daughter she was. She was very glad that John wasn't just giving up on making conversation, but she was fairly certain they had already covered most of the topics available in regards to a career.
Bart was more than happy to talk about his successful career. "I work with the producers of goods and hire ships to trade them for me. There is one very talented man who I wish Ysabel would have been more interested in romantically; he hasn't failed me yet and he has a magnificent ship. So far he's been the only one I need and has returned quite the profit." He gave a sidelong glance to Ysabel, not caring if his words affected John, "That Captain Skinner would have been good for you, girl."
Oh, that Zak. He made her blood boil. The scowl that appeared on Izzy's face was enough to convey her thoughts on that matter.

John frowned and crossed his arms. That dirty pirate bastard was a plague of a man if there ever was one. "Well I think Ysabel should be allowed to love whom she wishes to love." John stated flatly. "I personally do not like the man. I've seen him causing too much trouble while not working. Wouldn't you prefer a man with connections to Hyrules royal family?" John asked placing a hand on Ysabels back.

"I'm just suggesting that it would have been good for business. Clearly I've no hand in who she chooses to be with, as she's with you." Bart's voice was level and intentionally honest. From what he'd seen of Skinner, he was a great guy. Besides, where was this kid getting his info? Sure, Zakari went to bars, but that was typical of a Captain. He and Ysabel had on disagreed on fundamental moralities.
"I don't really care about connections to royalty," Bart uttered, being Terminian, he truly didn't care. His heart went with the money. "A practical, hardworking man is a man I want my daughter to be with, one who can support her and her dreams. Though I would have been much happier if she were with one of my employees, I have no care so long as she is well fed and has anything her heart desires." He was a blunt, rude man, but his heart was sometimes in the right place. Addy smiled up and him and nodded, walking into the restaurant Bart had chosen.
Ysabel smiled weakly at John. "Don't worry about Daddy. He's just got his mind on his money."

John leaned towards Ysabel and whispered back "Yeah and only his money." he leaned back up and looked around the restaurant. The place looked nice and he enjoyed that small pleasure. "So what do you do for a living ma'am?" John asked Ysabels mother.

Bartholomew wasn't oblivious to John's manners and would surely be taking this up with his daughter in private. Meanwhile, Addison had been politely seated by her husband and was skimming over the menu when John asked her a question. She abruptly dropped the menu and looked at him with wide eyes. She was a little... flighty. "Me? Well I mainly... nothing much, any more. I've mostly been a house wife. Now I make Ysabel's dresses and I used to do her lessons, until she moved out." Addy's voice was kind, as usual. Ysabel was mostly like her mother with her father's stubbornness.
"I have to use the restroom," Bart said, excusing himself. As he walked away, Addy didn't bother to pick up the menu. "He's a little overbearing, but he does want the best for her. I think he remembers all too well what happened when we were younger and had no money. He's not really a greedy man, he just wants to be able to provide all Ysabel and I have ever wanted and more. I'm sure he'll come to like you as well, you'll just have to pardon his stubborn nature."
While her mother was talking, Izzy was nodding to what she was saying. "He's a little hard to please if you're not related to him." That was why he had wanted her to get with Zak so badly.

"Well there's no shame in being a house wife" John said with a smile. His mother stayed at home most of the day to raise the kids and she loved every second of it. "Isn't that what you want to do Izzy?" John asked his love. "Or did you want to continue your fathers legacy?"

"I most certainly do not want to evolve into a woman who leads the most boring business in the world. I want to be a teacher, a friend, and I want to be able to explore. A lot of that may entail what a housewife does, but I'm most certainly not going to be cooped up inside counting pennies for a living." Ysabel's word were kind but held a measure of unmatched passion within. She loved children so much it scared her, but she couldn't imagine being cooped up inside with them for a whole day.
Addy smiled kindly at her daughter. "She's never been one to be kept inside. If it didn't snow in the Winter I don't know what would stop her."

John chuckled and smiled at his love. Her opinion was completely understandable but he would prefer a housewife. "Love to travel then?" He gave a slight smile and chuckled warmly. "Well then why don't you join the navy and sail with me across the seas?" He asked proud of his line of work.

Just as the words escaped John's lips, Bartholomew came and resumed his position beside his lovely wife. He was just in time to hear Izzy proclaim her hatred of the sea.
"I hate boats. I hate the sea. I hate the ocean. I hate fish, I hate salt water, I hate pirates, I hate vomiting. I hate getting sick, hate the smell of it, don't care for dried meats, definitely don't want to be on one for more than two hours at a time. I love the land and all things that inhabit it. I have traveled to Hyrule by ship and that is all I ever intend to do. If I go anywhere, it will be by air. I'm not leaving the country of Hyrule lest it's by a method other than ship, boat, swimming, what have you." Ysabel was off on a bit of a tangent. She absolutely hated boats. Screw them. She was prejudiced against ships, so she certainly wasn't going to go anywhere unless she could fly.
Addy and Bart both smiled at their daughter's enthusiasm. An odd one, she was, but she couldn't help herself.

"I'm a captain and I only get meat on a good day!" John said with a small smile. He knew how harsh sea life could be, especially for women. They all seemed to become targets for the male crew members. "I at least hope you don't mind me sailing dear!" John honestly thought she might hate him for his career choice.

Ysabel shrugged John's words off absent-mindedly. She didn't care for a man who sailed, and if it came between them she would leave. She didn't think it was going to be a problem, but her heart was set on him. If someone else came along who was more of her true love, she could cope as it came. It was harder now to think about what she wanted to eat. Their server had approached and her mother and father had already ordered, so the blonde looked up quietly and smiled. "I'll take the special, please."
Though she didn't know what the special was, she was apparently going to take it.
