Alistair had been trying his hardest to learn more about the world so he could become one of the most educated borons around. He had boarded a ship to Labrynna, endured a terrifying ride, and got shot down as soon as he entered Lynna Library. With a frustrated, disheartened attitude, he had fled to the highlands where the Labrynnian gorons lived. He sat down on a rock and stared at the ground for a moment, feeling awfully worthless.
"It's not my fault pencils always break. I did not do anything wrong. Why do they laugh at me so?" Misery was evident in the goron hybrid's deep voice. He hadn't bothered to paint on his markings today, so he looked like your everyday brown man, save the fact that he was 7'0'' tall. His amber eyes welled with tears as he petted the grass in a lamenting silence.
He tried so hard to learn things, but no one had the patience to teach him. He didn't have the patience to be taught. It was hard to be made of rock.
The breeze that blew made his fluffy white hair surround his face. He smiled at the faint sensation, only to seek the comfort of the wind. The sun was warm on his back. He loved the warmth. The flowers in the meadow around him swayed with the wind. He was in a peaceful, quite, serene area where he could be alone and seek solace within himself.

It was another day on the hunt, rather, another day in a nation filled with stuck-up know-it-all people that seem to think that they know more about beast hunting than a beast hunter. Ilyane hated being in Labrynna for any hunt. Soon enough, Ilya had to get away from all of them. Yet, on a chase of a rabbit, she had fired an arrow, that got caught by a sharp gust of wind, missing the intended target, and into a rock-like thing. The arrow bounced off the rock formation as she could tell, and the little woman went to get the arrow, which she did, and realized what the stray bounced off of, a goron. Ilyane knew that the tall brown man was a Goron hybrid since, he looked too human to be a full-blooded one, though he still had the thick, rock-like skin that was that of a Goron's. Yet something was off, he seemed rather, upset, she approached, grabbing her arrow gently, before speaking with a gentle and motherly tone, "Aw, what's wrong sweetie?" she asked, sitting next to him on the rocks, and looking at him gently smiling.

Alistair ignored the fait tap on his back, though it struck his nerves well enough that he felt he should, perhaps, have been alarmed. His sadness was so consuming that he had decided that he simply wouldn't be caring about things hitting his back. He didn't realize the woman's presence until she spoke to him, after which he produced a slightly startled look. He hadn't expected her to be so kind as to actually ask him what was wrong, so he just kind of looked at her curiously until he found the short choppy sentence he needed.
"I went to learn. They just made fun of me." The goron's amber eyes went back to the pretty swaying grass. It made him happy that someone had actually been up here, though. Alistair didn't care why she was here, he just liked knowing that someone was present. He wasn't even going to ask why.

Ilyane laughed a little, not at the Goron's misfortune, but rather, where both were at wit's end with the country they were in, "Well. To say something, you're not starting off in a great place. I mean, Labrynna is a... Nice place of knowledge, but most of the people here have their heads rammed real far up their own rear." she said smiling, now resting her bow on her shoulder and putting a foot up onto the rock she was sitting on, "Well. If you want help, I'd like to help you. By the way, My name's Ilyane, may I ask yours?" Ilya was still with a gentle smile turned to him, with her long black hair flowing through the wind that presented itself. Though to add with the irony to the towering dark man, and the little pale woman, was the hair, hers was dark, and his snow white. Though Ilya wasn't intending to make friends here, she wished to make the Goron a friend of hers.

As Alistair listened to what the dark-haired female had to say, he couldn't help but to feel confused. Of everyone had their heads rammed up their rear, why didn't they look like it? To him, it just didn't make sense. He decided not to ponder on it too long, mainly because the woman began to speak again. He wasn't good at focusing on more than one thing at a time.
"Ilyane." Alistair spoke aloud, hoping it would help him to remember her name. After he spoke, he answered the question. "I am Alistair Brynnmor." He offered a small, totally half-hearted smile. "I don't know if there is any way to help. I am just not cut out for non-goron things." The way he stated it so sorrowfully was somewhat pathetic, but Alistair had never had a problem with weakness.

Ilya smiled at the man, there had to be non-goron things he had to be good at, "Well, there has to be something you are good at! Maybe we can try to find it!" She sounded cheerful, in feeble attempt to cheer the Goron up. Hell, she was not good at some things, cheering people up was one thing she wasn't good at, "You know Alistair, I at one point was in the same boat as you, though, rather than being a Goron in a world of men, I was a uncivilized huntress in a civilized world. And you know, I found something in this world, other than killing creatures and firing a bow, that I'm good at. I'm sure you'll find it, here, I'll even help you!" Okay maybe not. Ilya was decent at helping people, making them smile, was different, other than she was an actress, and sang better than half the opera singers out there. But that was besides the point. Ilyane had to cheer up a Goron whom if she angered him, could probably throw her half-way to the moon, even without it crashing into Clock Town.

Alistair wracked his brain for something he was good at that was something that wasn't restricted to goron kind. Well, what was he good at? He was good at lifting things. Normal people had to lift things too, didn't they? Yes. So that could be something. Of course, there were probably other things as well. But what?
His mind was reeling, but he listened to Ilyane's story and it did make him feel a little better. Apparently people were nice enough to make friends with him, and if people were nice enough to make friends with him, he was in a decent mood.
"I... I really do not know." He would have liked to comfort people, but he just wasn't good at that either. "There are not many things I can do because I am so large." He broke things very often, usually on accident. It was hard for him to exist in a world filled with such sadness.

Ilyane smiled and rose, uselessly offering her hand to the big Goron, "You have to try, I'm currently going on a visit to an abandoned shrine, care to see if you're good at a Shrine?" she asked, knowing that the shrine she was going to was abandoned since the sorceress had been around many years ago. But there were relics that the Shrine of Life (AKA: Farore's Shrine) needed, since after the Spring Festival in Holodrum, there was another festival, in the late fall the Shrine of Life hosts the Festival of the Stars. Thus she needed to head to an old shrine to retrieve some scripts that she needed for the festival. She looked over at the Goron, "Of course, you don't have to. I'm fine with that, though I'd be a little bit."

Alistair wasn't sure if he wanted to go demolish a shrine today, but he figured he didn't have anything better to do. "A-Alright. I guess I can." There wasn't any need for him to just sit around on his rump for any longer, after all.
"You're very nice, Ilyane." He managed to mumble, politely declining the use of the woman's hand. He didn't want to pull her on top of him, after all. "Where is this place?"

Ilyane shrugged, "It's about an hour's walk around the mountain. If you wanted to come along and all." she said noticing him rise, and how small she was in comparison to him. He was much taller than she was, and probably much much heavier, "Well. Let's head out then!" Ilya said before moving slowly so he'd catch up easier, she;s a bit more nimble than he was as far as she could see.

An hour's walk. Better take that and double it, unless you're planning to speed the goron up somehow. "That's quite a way away." It was, really, but that didn't matter. Time came and time went. It was all the same afterward, anyways. Alistair had a faint idea of what a shrine was, but he'd never done much with one. Gorons weren't exactly gentle people.
The large male stood and lumbered after Ilya, totally used to the mass/height difference. This is what normally happened around normal people. Though he wasn't fast, his long strides helped him to keep up.
