Princess, Please! (GANONDORF)

Zelda paused and looked down. Like him? No she didn't like him. She was absolutely obsessed with him. She thought of him day and night and the fear of loosing him was killing her every day. "Y-yeah I do."she smiled at link and slowly reached for his hand. He was far too kind to her and to be honest she loved it. "but link I know I'm smaller. You don't need to lie." She said with a small smile as she took his hand in hers. "But but I appreciate it. You make me happy. Very happy."

Link eagerly grabbed Zelda's hand and held it up to his heart. "I don't care how you are. You're the only one that I want." The man smiled, thoroughly pleased with himself. Hopefully nothing would interfere with this relationship and they could be happy together forever, but Link knew very well that wasn't how it worked.

All of these words were like music to his ears. He hadn't even thought about seeing Zelda today but he was glad he had been the one to rescue her from that witch. If he hadn't, Lord only knows what may have happened. "I'm glad I make you happy. I've been trying. You shouldn't get so down on yourself, though. It's simply no fun." Link rarely got down on himself unless he made a major screw up. Major screw ups happened pretty frequently but so far none had been too severe.

"Now, shouldn't you be getting up? Wouldn't want to get all dirty, would you?"

Zelda gave a small smile. She enjoyed having link compliment her so much. It was giving her a much needed boost to her esteem. "Thanks link." she said slowly standing up. She brushed her dress off and slowly turned her gaze to link. The light made him look absolutely beautiful and handsome. "Link..." Zelda said clasping her hands together in front of her. "I really don't know what to say. The only other person I had feelings for was Lydia and she's a girl and you're a boy and... And..." she paused and shook her head "Well I don't know what to tell her. She likes you and thinks you're good for me but I'm afraid my parents won't like you."

It was like music to his ears, hearing her say that she liked him. He was now feeling refreshed, simply amazing, as if he were on top of the world. He couldn't wait to get married and have children and rule Hyrule and… wait, what did she say?

Just as he thought he had it all figured out all hell broke loose. She was afraid her parents wouldn't like him? Well, why? What was wrong with him? Link was kind and just and talented and handsome and strong and basically the perfect candidate for any princess! Was it because he wasn't a prince? Was it because he wasn't brave enough? Why he had done many temples in his time! The downed mood of him was visible in his posture. Once erect and tall he now slumped and hung his head. It simply was not fair. He would never be good enough. Might as well just settle down with Ruto, for at least her dad loved him.

Zelda gasped quietly. She knew she had caused some damage and needed to fix it fast. "Well Link it's not that they won't like you it's just that they don't know you that well. I mean I see no reason why they wouldn't like you. You're a handsome strong man! You save me on a daily basis!" she said with a smile. Her father knew him from his line of work but she wasn't about to risk giving that information away "Link don't worry ok?" she said holding his hand firmly.

Link didn't know how he should react. He was sure that nothing could be decided before he even formally met them, so he wasn't sure why he had let the news strike him so hard. It must have been the sheer fact that once he had come so close to achieving one of his lifelong dreams it was nearly taken away, all because of some stupid parents. Now, Link didn't have parents, at least parents that he knew on a personal level. This also made him sad, knowing that he couldn't have anyone approve of Zelda. The closest thing he had to a mother was Navi and she was annoying as hell.

"I won't worry." Link, still pouting, squeezed Zelda's hand. He couldn't help but to be sad.

Zelda sighed And hugged link tightly. She truly felt bad about links situation and had to do something to make him feel better about himself. "Link." She said gently turning him to face her. She gently moved herself closer to him and planted a gentle kiss on his lips "Don't worry about it dear. I-I" She paused and swallowed hard "I love you."

Talk about things escalating quickly! Either she actually meant what she said or she was improvising to make him feel better. Whatever the case, he didn't mind, at least not at that particular moment in time. His first kiss ever was with the Princess of Hyrule! What an accomplishment! Reacting naturally, he wrapped his arms around the brunette and pulled her closer, hovering over her in a chauvinistic fashion.

"You will never know how long I've waited for you to say that. I love you too." He leaned down and placed another kiss on Zelda's lips, this one more firm, reassuring himself that it wasn't just something she had said.

Zelda grinned and rested her head on his firm chest and giggled quietly. This must've been how her parents felt when they found each other. She sighed loudly in pure bliss while she listened to links heart beating in his chest. Everything about Link made her feel so safe, warm and happy all at the same time. "L-link..." she looked up at her love and blushed "How long have you loved me?"

"Since the day I first met you at the castle." Smiling, he reached into his bag and pulled out the blue ocarina he had gotten many years ago. "It still works and I still know your lullaby. It's always been my favorite song. I've modified it to fit the harp as well." Link allowed himself to reminiscene for a moment before he put the ocarina away. "I remember, too, when we were kids and Navi conned me into sneaking into the castle…"

Even after he got past all the guards he still hadn't known what to expect. He never thought he'd meet the love of his life.

Zelda chuckled. Even if the fairy annoyed her she at least brought her to this wonderful man. "Aw Link that's so sweet!" She said hugging him. No one had ever wanted her or seen anything more in her than a quick way to get the throne. "I kinda had a crush on you then too. I'm so happy you're here for me!"

With a small, content sound, Link hugged Zelda. This was nearly too good to be true. Matter of fact, it was. He slowly pulled away, smiling.

Within the next five seconds, an arrow had pierced his arm and he fell forward, a cry of pain escaping his lips. Who was this monster?

He didn't have time to turn around and he was struck from behind, rendered unconscious, lying silently on the forest floor.

A chuckle could be heart from behind. "Silly hero. Doesn't know he had a bounty on his head." Lucien stepped out from the bushes, a devilish smile on his face.

Zelda screamed and caught Link as he stumbled and helped him to his feet. "Oh god Link!" She said holding him tightly "Oh my god oh my god oh my god!" She yelled holding Link tightly "WHO ARE YOU?" she yelled glaring at the man with tears in her eyes "Go away!"

Lucien laughed at the princess's reaction. His laugh was light, playful, almost imp like. "Oh, dear. If I left he would surely die." The venom in the pale man's eyes gleamed, the colors themselves swirling, light greens and dark greens reacting in a whirlpool of poison. "You see, he's my target. That arrow was poisoned. I know very well he isn't immune to it, either. Within a matter of minutes his body will undergo compulsions so violent that his heart will stop." Lucien frowned mockingly, wiping a mock tear from his eye.

"There's but one thing you can do to save him." The wicked smile that accompanied the man's words was ominous. So ominous, in fact, that if he saw himself he would have been frightened.

Zelda looked up at the man with tears. He terrified her but she had to remain strong. For him. "What? What do you need me to do?" she asked looking at him with utter hatred. "Why should I trust you? Who says you wouldn't hurt me?" she asked trying to sound intimidating.
